Since I had to find a new host for the Paranormal Carnival (which will be posted at the BWC by this weekend), I’ve been thinking that I need to have kind of list of backup hosts. I’m not saying I foresee that the BWC will need them, but you never know what life is going to throw at you. This is just an idea and I’m looking for feedback and to see who would be willing to help in a pinch.
Basically, you would just step in and post the carnival. You would be stuck with the theme that was chosen (unless we know far enough in advance that the host can no longer do it) and submissions would end up being forwarded to you.
While I have no problelm posting Carnivals here, the whole idea is to help build our community, so I would rather see other blogs getting the traffic and introducing new readers to their content since it really doesn’t change much here. Plus, it should help the BWC run smoothly and without interruption.
Am I making any sense or am I just rambling? What do you guys think? Is this a good idea? Who would be willing to act as a backup host?
ETA: Slight correction, the Paranormal Carnival will be posted by Monday for sure. I really need to know what day it is before saying anything. 
The carnival ends on a Friday – that is “the weekend”!
I think it’s a great idea! I wouldn’t mind being a back up host for any fantasy related carnivals – if we get a choice. If not, that’s cool, it would just fit my blog more, as I review fantasy

Definitely Jo. If there’s a certain theme you would be willing to do backup host as, let me know.
Otherwise, backup hosts would probably not get their choice of theme. For instance, if Ali could no longer do her carnival, there is no way we could change her theme since it’s coming up next. There’s just not enough time and she’s probably already receiving submissions. Now if one 2 months from now said they couldn’t do it, then we could probably change that theme. It just depends on the carnival that needs a replacement.
AGAIN, I don’t have any that need replacements, so my current hosts don’t worry. This is just in case.
I would be willing to be a back-up host or anything else you need anytime.
You could try me as a backup host. I can’t guarantee I’ll be available at the spur of the moment, but definitely pop me an email and I’ll see if I’m free.
Even though I haven’t participated as much as I like, I still follow the carnival as much as I can.
I wouldn’t mind helping out in a pinch. I am very flexible, so no worries about whatever you toss my way.
Glad to see this one worked out and also that there are many others who are willing to help. This IS a fantastic community and I am very happy to be part of it.

Hiya I am a host but my carnival is far away so I’m up for backup duty (just not available in June).
