Book Blog Search

I just came across this and thought I would share it real quick like.  During the Book Blogger Appreciation Week, My Friend Amy had suggested putting together a directory for all book blogs.  Well, she finally did it (although I don’t know when it went live), but here’s the link to the directory.  It’s actually really cool because you can search for specific blogs or by categories.

Change in the 20th Edition

There’s been a slight change to the 20th Edition of the Bookworms Carnival.  It was originally suppose to be posted at Marcia over at the Printed Page, however she is unable to do it.  Instead, the carnival will be posted here at the new Bookworms Carnival site.  Any submissions can be sent to bookwormscarnival at gmail dot com.  Since the original deadline was today, I’ll keep it open until the 1st of the year (especially since I’m out of town at the moment).  The theme is still Guilty Pleasure, however I have no idea what that initially meant, so take it however you want.

Upcoming Editions:
The 21st edition (and the first of 2009) will be held by Renay over at The Deus Ex Machina Complex, with submissions due by January 9th.  The theme hasn’t been announced yet, but check back here because I’m sure it will be announced soon.

The 22nd Edition will be back with Jackie at Literary Escapism, where the theme is Anthologies. (side note: I love anthologies, they are a great way to be introduced to new authors).  Submissions will be due by January 23rd.

Renay at The Deus Ex Machina has announced her theme for the 21st Edition of the Bookworms Carnival.  She is going to be focusing on gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning literature.

I feared doing this carnival because of controversy. It’s why I almost defaulted to award books. In the end, I decided that I would rather choose visibility and hope that everything can stay civil.

So who’s afraid of a little GLBTQ literature?  Take a chance on something and then submit your review to Renay.  She’ll be accepting submissions (bottle.of.shine at gmail dot com) until January 9th, so don’t hesitate.  I know I have one she can use.

Upcoming Editions:
The 20th edition is hosted by Marcia over at the Printed Page, where the theme is Guilty Pleasures.  Marcia is still taking submissions (woodbear97 at yahoo dot com) until December 26, 2008.

The 22nd Edition will be back with Jackie at Literary Escapism, where the theme is Anthologies. (side note: I love anthologies, they are a great way to be introduced to new authors).  Submissions will be due by January 23rd (myjaxon at gmail dot com).

News

Now that the site is pretty much up and running…

For anyone who has submitted a request to hold a bookworms carnival to Dewey, we don’t have that information, so you’re not scheduled to host the Carnival.  We really don’t want to bother Dewey’s husband, especially during this time of the year, so we’re going from what we have on her website.  If you were already scheduled to host a carnival (check the upcoming editions page), then you’re all set.  However, if you had asked to host and are not on the list, please resubmit your request to bookwormscarnival at gmail dot com.  If there was a date Dewey had promised you, say so in your email and we’ll get you on that date.  If she hadn’t given you a date yet, then we’ll throw you in the next available one unless you state otherwise.  For any open slots, check out the upcoming editions.  Once the slots through next December are filled, then we’ll add the dates for 2010.

For past Carnival hosts…does anyone have the emails that Dewey would send out to the participant in anticipation of their carnival stop?  I know when I first signed up for it, she had an email giving a bunch of information.  We don’t have it, but we would like to.  If someone has it, could you send it to bookwormscarnival at gmail dot com?  Thanks!

For any of the upcoming hosts whose themes are TBA, please email us and let us know what you want your theme to be.  Once you share it with us, we’ll be sure to spread the word, that way you will get submissions for your Carnival Stop.

If there’s anything we’re missing on the site, let us know!

Oh!  One more request…help spread the word about the new site.  We want to make sure that everyone who was visiting it via HSL knows it’s moved over here.
